چکیده

The control of intestinal α-amylase and α-glucosidase is an effective therapeutic strategy for prevention post-prandial hyperglycemia associated with diabetes mellitus. objective this study was to evaluate the anti-diabetes activities Korean edible seaweed against α-glucosidase, two carbolytic enzymes involved in serum glucose regulation. Of 41 species initially screened, Cladophora wrightiana var. minor, Eisenia bicyclis, Ecklonia cava, Ishige foliacea, okamurae exhibited strongest inhibitory from brown seaweeds. Asparagopsis taxiformis showed effects red results suggest that crude extracts (C. E. I. okamurae) (A. taxiformis) may have beneficial suppressing rise postprandial through inhibition α-glucosidase.

Inhibitory Effects of Swietenia Mahagoni Seeds Extract on Α-Glucosidase and Α-amylase

This study analyzed the inhibition activity of Swietenia mahagoni seeds extract on α-glucosidase and α-amylase enzymes inhibition assays.  Swietenia mahagoni seeds were extracted by using Supercritical Carbon Dioxide (SC-CO2) extraction at pressures of 20- 30 MPa and temperatures of 40- 60°C.  The oil yields obtained were analyzed with α- glucosidase and α- amylase enzymes inhibition assays.  A...

Combined effects of green tea extracts, green tea polyphenols or epigallocatechin gallate with acarbose on inhibition against α-amylase and α-glucosidase in vitro.

Green tea, green tea polyphenols and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) are confirmed to have beneficial effects in the treatment of diabetes mellitus, and a possible mechanism can be ascribed to their inhibitory effect against α-amylase and α-glucosidase in the digestive tract. In this paper, we first investigated the combined inhibitory effect of green tea extracts, green tea polyphenols or EGCG...

Mode of Inhibition of α-Glucosidase and α-Amylase by Polyphenol-Enriched Extracts of Maqui (Aristotelia chilensis)

Polyphenolic compounds are known to be useful in formulating of nutritional or medicinal supplements for the treatment of several diseases. An important activity of polyphenols is the inhibition of digestive enzymes, especially carbohydrate-hydrolyzing enzymes such as α-amylase and α-glucosidase. Inhibitors of these enzymes are able to retard carbohydrate digestion, thus causing a reduction in ...

Potential Anti-obesity Effects of some Medicinal Herb: In vitro α-Amylase, α-Glucosidase and Lipase Inhibitory Activity

In this study, in vitro inhibitory activity of methanolic and chloroform extracts of some medicinal plants including C. wightii, T. ammi, N. sativa, C. arabica, L. usitatissimum, C. cyminum, and R. Graveolens was evaluated toward α-glucosidase, α-amylase, and lipase comparing with acarbose and orlistat as the standard inhibitors. Our results revealed that both methanolic and chloroform extracts...
